Reviewer: Angela Jarvie from Glasgow, Scotland. Love it!! and so do the little shells. LOTS of natural light. The plastic base fits most B&Q growing trays which is great for varying the habitat and getting in to the habit of feeding them home grown, junk free food. It's huge enough to build a party deck level above if you're feeling arty farty and your shells like to party.
It is very big though. To begin with it looks huge but once it's got plants hides and play areas in it..it's not really.
Value for money..YES. Really I've had several "indoor houses" for mine. None of which I really felt were shellbaby friendly this certainly is. It's versatile, secure and very sturdy.
This of course is from a humans point of view. From the little shells, it's a shellbaby penthouse. Little Fergus likes to have a twilight wander around. Because you can have as many light units as you like..she got a big treat and has a new "moon light"
Jingles, well..he's mastering the art of heart stopping moments and climbing it. He likes the front opening. It took ten minutes with some twig and string to make a "drawbridge" for him to get in and out. This has been patrolled all morning with a look of "ha! go try shutting me in now woman!" He is now playing Jungle Jingles and digging up all the plants we put in. He's well happy!!
If you are a first time owner..YES. If you just want somewhere secure and safe while your shell is unsupervised. YES. IF you don't want to waste money on stupid tables that are NO GOOD! for anyone with cats YES. If you only own one little shell..YES. I can find no downside to this habitat. The only thing you can go wrong with here, is imagination.
