The Sky Tortoise Tray System Small (1.0m) Tortoise Table is a raised plastic based Tortoise home with a stand and wire base surround so the animals can be placed safely below for extra space and exercise. Does not come with any accessories. Although open topped the unit is fully enclosed on all sides with a wire mesh. The mesh is wide gage so as not to interfere with the viewing of the animals, but to provide ultimate security. Inspired from keeping and breeding tortoises, This is a very practical product for keeping tortoises healthy and active all year round. The new product is exactly the kind of unit recommended by The Tortoise Trust particularly for certain species. Modern thinking is that the open living environment is more tortoise friendly than the vivarium style housing. On the top of the Tortoise Table is a deep plastic tray which when filled with substrate allows the animals to burrow to manage body temperature. The total size of the Tortoise Table, which is sold flat packed, is 100cm wide 45 deep and 120 high. The unit incorporates several doors for easy access. The open unit allows tortoises to live with good ventilation and reduced humidity. The Tortoise Table is to be used with a UV light allowing tortoises to bask under the heat, or move to cooler areas of the enclosure as they choose. The new unit is ideal for housing most species of tortoise including Mediterranean varieties. The vivarium can be too humid and warm compared to the table style of housing. The Tortoise Table has a wire run below which can be used for outside exercise. The plastic tray at the top can be removed and the unit is on wheels for easy movement. The edges of the run area are solid for 6 inches which stops tortoises climbing the wire and falling on their backs. The unit is versatile and can also be used for rabbits, guinea pigs and even ducklings and chicks.
